Day 1 — Arrival & Setup
This is your reporting day. The purpose is registration, document verification, and briefing about the upcoming days.
Morning Session
- Arrive at the centre on the time given in your call letter.
- Document checking: Bring original certificates, CNIC/B-Form, domicile and attested photocopies.
- Fill out your Bio-data / Personal Information Form (PIQ).
- Receive your chest number and get your photograph taken for official record.
- Administrative briefing about the 4-day schedule and house rules.
Afternoon Session
- Hand over all electronic devices (mobile phones, smart watches, tablets) for security storage.
- Orientation tour of the facility, dormitories, and GTO grounds.
- Light medical or physical measurement check (height, weight, eyesight).
- Introduction to the ISSB staff and a short Q&A session.
End of Day
- Instructions for Day 2 are shared.
- Dinner at the mess, lights out on time.
Day 2 — Psychological Tests
On this day, written and psychological assessments are conducted to evaluate your personality and mental ability.
Tests Conducted
- Intelligence Tests: Verbal and non-verbal reasoning to check problem-solving skills.
- Sentence Completion Test (SRT): You complete half-written sentences honestly and quickly.
- Word Association Test (WAT): Write the first sentence that comes to mind after seeing each word.
- Picture Story Writing (TAT): Write short stories about pictures shown on screen.
- Self Appraisal: Describe yourself, your strengths, weaknesses, and future goals.
Guidelines
- Write naturally and avoid memorized answers.
- Be positive and show realistic thinking.
- Maintain neat handwriting and manage time properly.
Day 3 — GTO (Group Testing Officer) Tasks
Day 3 focuses on group exercises and outdoor leadership tests to assess teamwork, confidence, and planning skills.
Group Tasks
- Group Discussion: Candidates discuss social or general topics to show communication ability.
- Group Planning Exercise: Solve a practical problem by planning and explaining the solution.
- Progressive Group Tasks: Work together to cross obstacles using given materials.
- Half Group / Final Group Task: Smaller group exercises to test cooperation and leadership.
- Command Task: Each candidate leads the group in completing one short mission.

Day 4 — Interviews & Conference
This is the final day when candidates are individually interviewed and their overall performance is reviewed.
Schedule of the Day
- Personal Interview: Conducted by the interviewing officer to discuss your background, interests, and motivation to join.
- Board Conference: All officers (Psychologist, GTO, Interviewer) meet to finalize the results.
- Medical Review: Final medical recheck if required.
- Departure: Candidates receive feedback and collect their personal belongings and phones.
Tips for Interview
- Be confident, honest, and polite.
- Maintain eye contact and good body posture.
- Know basic information about Pakistan, current affairs, and your academic background.
Results are announced officially later; recommended candidates are contacted by GHQ for further process.
